Online Classes

The A&E CAD Training Center now offers many of our courses in an online format. These courses are a great way to get the CAD training you need without having to commit your schedule to structured instructor-led classes. Please read below to see all the benefits online classes have to offer:

Each class is $295 and a new section begins on the first day of every month and runs for 60 days. Check the course list below to see if there is a class that looks right for you!

AutoCAD 2D Drafting and Annotation The Complete Guide is designed to give you a solid understanding of AutoCAD features and capabilities. This course covers Starting with Sketching, Layers, Dimension Styles, Dynamic Blocks and A360. Autodesk AutoCAD is a powerful CAD software helping professionals create 2D drawings faster and with more precision. Its simplified 2D drafting allows teams to work more efficiently by sharing drawings across connected desktop, cloud, and mobile solutions.

This course is a self-guided online course. Students have 60 days to complete the curriculum, but may work at their own pace throughout the course. Lessons are presented in written format, video format and have a hands-on assignment at the end of each learning module.

The latest Civil 3D Fundamentals course is designed for Civil Engineers and Surveyors who want to take advantage of AutoCAD Civil 3D’s interactive, dynamic design functionality. AutoCAD Civil 3D permits the rapid development of alternatives through its model-based design tools. You will learn techniques enabling you to organize project data, work with points, create and analyze surfaces, model road corridors, create parcel layouts, perform grading and volume calculation tasks, and lay out pipe networks.

Duration: 32 hours
Prerequisites: Prior experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD-based products (such as Autodesk Land Desktop) is a prerequisite for this course.

Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets.

Since building projects themselves tend to be extremely complex, Revit Architecture necessarily a complex program. The objective of the latest Revit Architecture Fundamentals course is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. You begin by learning about the user interface and the Revit commands for design development followed by those available for construction documentation.

Duration: 32 hours
Prerequisites: An understanding of architectural terminology is an asset.

Autodesk Inventor The Complete Guide is designed to give you a solid understanding of Inventor, its features, and capabilities; from the basics through to the most advanced and complex topics. This course covers Sketching, Adding Part Features, Creating the Drawing, Presentations, and Weldments. Autodesk Inventor is a 3D parametric modeling system, offering professional-grade 3D mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation tools. With Inventor, you can create 3D digital prototypes and then use them to create drawings, visualizations, and simulations.

Description: This course introduces you to the revolutionary parametric capabilities of Autodesk® Revit. As a true parametric 3D digital building modeler, Revit uses intelligent building components such as floors, walls, doors, windows, stairways, etc., rather than simple objects like lines, circles and arcs that represent building components, as in traditional CAD systems. Each component is linked through a high performance change propagation engine, allowing a single change in any model view to be propagated throughout all views, both parametrically and bi-directionally.

Students learn to use the software as an architectural design tool, then instruct the program to produce floor plans, elevations, schedules, and rendered views automatically on plotted sheets. This course covers an overview of Revit concepts including: the user interface, project set-up, designing with digital building components, producing drawing sheets, and detailing and documenting the project.
